上映中なので感想を簡潔に。いちおうネタバレ注意。
・前作は宇宙のならず者たちが違いや偏見を超えて結束していき、官僚主義のノヴァ・コーズにも頼りにされるという展開が痛快だったが、今回はすでにチームが出来上がっているので、じゃあ今回のテーマは何かというと「家族」である。スターロードことピーター・クイルの父親が登場し、ガモラとネビュラの姉妹の葛藤とかが描かれていく。
・そのなかで登場人物たちの過去が説明されていくわけだが、前作に比べて主人公たちに切羽詰まった危機感がないので、特に中盤は間延びした印象を受けたかな。主人公が「ここで幸せに暮らせるぞ！」と言われてもそんな展開になりっこないことは観客には分かってるわけで、もっと話に緊迫感をもたせても良かったんじゃないの。
・エゴやマンティスといった新しいキャラクターが登場するほか、ネビュラが主人公たちを行動を共にするので登場人物が増えているのだけど、話が雑多になるのを防ぐために彼らを二手に分けてしまうわけですね。そこで片方は視察、片方はお留守番と別々の目的を与えたので、そこで話のスピードがガクンと落ちてしまう。例えば「スター・トレック BEYOND」もチームを複数に分けてたけど、あれは宇宙船が不時着してお互いを探すという目的が共通していたわけで。主人公たちを追いかけているはずの敵（金ピカのほう）もさほど脅威的に見えないし。
・まあでも不満があったのはこの話のペースだけで、アクションも台詞回しも軽快だし、深く考えずに見る分には非常に楽しめる作品じゃないですか。80年代のポップカルチャーの知識が少し求められるけど。「チアーズ」を知らない人に説明するとね、サムとダイアンの恋愛プロットが解決したら人気がグッと下がったのですよ。
・しかしスターロード、ヘルメットあれば宇宙服いらないんじゃなかったっけ？
・ちなみにエゴの話って、「スターマン」に似てない？そうなると演じるのはカート・ラッセルよりもジェフ・ブリッジスのほうが良かっただろうが、あっちは「アイアンマン」に出てしまってるからなあ。
