カートゥーン・ネットワークで「FRISKY DINGO」を作ってたスタッフによる、FXネットワークスの新作アニメ番組。
基本的には60年代のスパイ映画のパロディになっていて、主人公のスターリング・アーチャーは秘密諜報組織「アイシス」に務めるエージェント。スパイとして最低限のスキルは持っているものの、ドジで女たらしでヘマばかりやっているエージェントで、組織の金を使って酒ばかり飲んでいるような人物。アイシスの長官である母親にも蛇蝎のごとく嫌われ、同僚ともドタバタばかりやっているアーチャーだが、与えられた任務は奇跡的にもどうにかこなしていく…といった感じの作品。
下ネタ満載のジョークとかシュールな展開はカートゥーン・ネットワークのアダルト・スイムの作品群そのまんまで、なぜそれをFXで放送するのかという疑問は残るが、個人的にはこういうスパイもののパロディは好きなのでそれなりに面白かった。この形式のアニメで20数分という尺は弱冠長く感じられて、アダルト・スイムの多くの作品のように15分程度の方が良いように思われるものの、次から次へとジョークが連発されるおかげで観ていて飽きはしない。声優はジュディ・グリアーやジェシカ・ウォルターなど「アレステッド・ディベロップメント」絡みの役者が務めていて、特に後者はキャラクターのデザインも本人そのまんま。
やはりFXの作品としては異色な気もするが、それなりに面白い作品ですよ。
