A ménage à trois and intimacy outside the bedroom are sexual fantasies that we’ve all heard before.
But what about having sex in a desert, or even a storage unit?
These are just two of the unusual sexual fantasies social media users have confessed to trying.
A hilarious Reddit thread, named ‘what is a sexual fantasy you do not recommend’, features the bizarre sexcapades of commenters — many of who bitterly
regret their risqué acts.
The thread began with a question from user u/Fantastic-Ant-4429, who asked:
‘What is a sexual fantasy you do not recommend fulfilling?’
Having sex in the desert, a library and on a plane were
some of the most upvoted responses, Huffpost reported.
Reddit user u/ElPresidente714 admitted to trying to
have sex in the desert at night when coming
back from Vegas. But in reality, they were met with
‘creepy crawly desert things don’t sleep at night’.
Another, u/DonSmitty said a ‘buddy in high school’ covered his girlfriend (including her
genitals) in chocolate syrup. But it didn’t end well — she got infected with a
‘crazy’ yeast infection.
Doing it in a storage unit was another unusual fantasy which ended
badly. User u/isthisfark wrote: ‘There’s a closing time and if you miss it you’ll get stuck behind the gates for the night.
Then the people who live there start rustling.’
Not everyone pursues or even plans to act on their sexual fantasies in real life.
But a handful of those who have tried to make their browser history a reality
have confessed they didn’t quite go to plan — a thread on Reddit revealed
The thread began with a question from user u/Fantastic-Ant-4429 , who asked: ‘What is a sexual fantasy
you do not recommend fulfilling?’ (pictured, Dakota Johnson and James Doman in Fifty Shades Darker)
Nationally 55 per cent of Brits reported having sex at least one a week, this
rising to 59 per cent of men and falling to 51 per cent of women
One commenter u/hot-snake-70 confessed they found out the hard way that it ‘stings’ if you put your penis
‘in a glass of red wine’.
Threesomes were also suggested to be a bad idea with user u/Touristupdatenola adding:
‘If I wanted to disappoint two people simultaneously, I’d have dinner with both my parents.’
Another user u/odysseus-23, warned against trying to have sex in a
library due to the likelihood of getting ‘caught
on the cameras’.
And while joining the Mile High Club — engaging in sex acts while aboard an airplane — might sound exciting, some warn that it is anything but.
‘Mile high club. Trust me, these bathrooms are getting smaller and smaller.
And people notice, they always notice,’ u/bigindianenergy29
commented.

The Psychological Impact of Virtual Doubles
The concept of virtual doubles allows individuals to create digital representations of
themselves, commonly referred to as doppelgängers.
This phenomenon has significant psychological implications on human behavior in virtual
environments, as well as in the real world.
According to social learning theory, people are more likely to imitate behaviors they see others
perform. In virtual reality, individuals not only witness the actions of others but can also
observe themselves through their virtual doubles.
Virtual reality provides a unique opportunity for behavior modification. By seeing themselves
performing certain actions, individuals can become more aware of their behaviors and
may be motivated to make positive changes. This process of
self-observation and self-reflection can lead to personal
growth and improvement in various aspects of life.
However, it is important to note that virtual environments
also offer individuals the chance to live a life
with no immediate consequences. This freedom from immediate repercussions can impact their decision-making and behavior in the real world.
For instance, individuals may engage in risky or unethical actions in virtual reality, believing that their actions carry no weight or moral
responsibility.
The psychological impact of virtual doubles and their influence on behavior is a complex
and evolving field of study. While virtual reality allows for the exploration of new possibilities and experiences, it is crucial to consider the potential consequences and ethical considerations
associated with this technology.
Quoting Social Learning Theory:
“People learn through observing others’ behaviors, attitudes, and outcomes of those behaviors. Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions, this coded information serves as a guide for action.”
Albert Bandura
Virtual doubles have the potential to shape human behavior
both in virtual environments and the real world. Understanding the
psychological processes at play can aid in the responsible and ethical development of virtual reality technologies for the benefit
of individuals and society.
The Influence of Self-Perception in Virtual Environments
In virtual environments, individuals have the opportunity
to create idealized versions of themselves, which can significantly impact their self-perception.
Studies have shown that virtual avatars can influence body image perception and
lead to changes in real-world behavior. For instance, individuals who embody obese avatars
in virtual environments may perceive themselves differently and exhibit alterations in their behavior.
Furthermore, virtual race can also play a role in self-perception. Research has indicated that assigning individuals a different race in a virtual environment can increase measures
of racism. This highlights the potential impact of virtual identities on racial perception and the
need for further exploration in this area.
The influence of self-perception in virtual environments extends beyond body image and racial
perception. It has the potential to affect behavior change and shape individuals’ actions in the
real world. Understanding these dynamics is crucial to better comprehend the complexities of human behavior in virtual settings.
“Virtual reality provides a unique platform to explore the malleability of self-perception and the consequential impact it can have on behavior.”
In order to illustrate the influence of self-perception in virtual environments, let
us take a closer look at a study that examined the relationship between virtual avatars and body
image perception:
Study Participants Methodology Findings
Smith et al. (2020) 100 adults Participants were randomly
assigned thin, average, or obese avatars. They rated their body image satisfaction before and after the virtual experience.
Participants embodying obese avatars reported
decreased body image satisfaction and exhibited changes in dietary choices and exercise behaviors in the real world.
This study provides compelling evidence of the impact
that self-perception in virtual environments can have on real-world behavior.
It emphasizes the need for further research and exploration of the intricate
relationship between virtual identities, self-perception, and behavior change.

accessible, it is essential to consider the ethical considerations surrounding their use.
Virtual environments have the potential to influence individuals’ behavior in both positive and negative ways,
and it is important to navigate the balance between promoting desirable behaviors
and avoiding the potential for negative behavioral changes.
Further research is needed to fully understand the long-term
effects of virtual environments on real-world behavior.
This research should explore not only the immediate behavioral changes that can occur but also the potential for lasting impact.
Additionally, studying the societal consequences
and ethical considerations of virtual environments is crucial to
ensure responsible and meaningful use of this technology.
Emerging Trends in the Future of Virtual Environments

behaviors. Whether it’s using virtual reality for training purposes, education, or conceptual demonstrations,
the potential for behavioral change is immense.
As immersive technology continues to advance, it is crucial to understand the implications of
virtual environments on human behavior and society as a whole.
While there are positive outcomes, such as the
potential for enhanced learning and skill development, there are also ethical considerations and possible negative effects that need to be addressed.
Further research is necessary to gain a comprehensive understanding
of the long-term effects of virtual environments on real-world behavior.
By exploring this evolving field, we can leverage the power of immersive technology to promote
positive behavioral changes and create a better future for individuals and society as a whole.

An invitation to lunch at Caviar Kaspia was, once upon a time, an offer you simply
didn’t refuse. Providing, of course, that the bill was on someone else.
Because caviar, smeared on blinis or piled high on baked potatoes,
sure didn’t come cheap. There may have been other things
on the menu, but no one paid them much heed. This was all about lashings of the black stuff.
Caviar Kaspia’s signature baked potato and caviar: ‘there
are few better dishes on earth…only the price, at just under
£150, is ridiculous’
Caviar Kaspia popped her final tin about two decades back.
And that site, hidden down a smart Mayfair mews, was taken over by
Gavin Rankin (who used to be the boss), and transformed into the brilliant Bellamy’s.
It prospers to this day. Kaspia, on the other hand, went quiet.
Until last year, when she reopened as a members’ club in another Mayfair backstreet.
But a £2,000 a year membership fee proved hard to swallow, meaning the doors
were opened to the great unwashed.
Which is how we find ourselves sitting in a rather handsome – albeit near empty – dining room,
lusciously lavish, under the stern gaze of a stern painting of a very stern man. The soft, crepuscular
gloom is broken up by the glare of table lamps, indecorously bright, while a
loud soundtrack of indolent, indeterminate beats throbs in the background.
The whole place is scented with gilded ennui.
Our fellow diners are two young South Korean women of pale, luminescent beauty, clad in diaphanous couture.
They don’t speak, rather communicate entirely via camera phone.
Pose, click, check, filter, post. Immaculate
waiters hover in the shadows.
We sip ice-cold vodka, and eat a £77 caviar and smoked-salmon Kaspia croque monsieur that tastes far better
than it ought to. Next door, a large table fills with a
glut of the noisily, glossily confident.
We’re looked after by a wonderful French lady of such effervescent charm
and charisma that had she burst into an impromptu performance of ‘Willkommen’, we would have barely blinked.
Baked potatoes, skin as crisp as parchment, insides whipped savagely hard with
butter and sour cream, are a study in tuber art. A cool jet-black splodge
of oscietra caviar, gently saline, raises them to the sublime.
Only the price, at just under £150 each, is ridiculous.
But there are few better dishes on earth. I’d eat this every day if I could.
But I can’t. Obviously. That’s the problem with caviar.
One taste is never enough.

‘Tis the season of hosiery. Paired with a mini skirt and
a sequin blazer (we’re looking at you, Selena Gomez), or styled with a little black dress and a pair of killer heels (à

From matte to glossy, opaque to sheer, and black to skin-toned shades, there’s a lot more to consider than just the denier

M&S believes the decision between opaque and sheer tights should be based on the formality of our outfit.
‘Opaque black tights will go with basically everything.
Often said to clash with black; blue or brown hues are also an option.’
‘Sheer tights are great for more formal occasions and warmer temperatures, as they provide a lighter and more breathable option,’ the high street giant added.
‘You can achieve that elegant, barely-there look with a little extra coverage.’
Similarly, intricate patterns, logos and glitter are best suited for
evening looks, says M&S. ‘For a daytime or office look, stick with polka dots or diamond patterned tights, or
if you’re looking for some added cosiness, try cable-knit tights for some subtle texture.’

A British tourist has been killed in a horror head-on crash with a six-tonne truck in Thailand, just hours after wishing his
wife a happy Valentine’s Day.
The man had been riding a scooter back from the beach on the popular tourist island of Phuket
when the tragic incident took place in the early hours
of this morning.
Witnesses said his bike collided with an Isuzu NLR 130 delivery truck and that the
force of impact flung the motorcycle through the air and into
a grey Toyota minivan, with the vehicles said to have been damaged.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene on Patak Road in the
Rawai district of the holiday city. The man could not be saved and he
was pronounced dead at the scene.
His last message online, posted just hours before his death, read: ‘I want to wish my
beautiful wife a wonderful Valentines Day.’

‘The British man was dead when paramedics arrived.
His body has been taken to the Vachira Phuket Hospital for a full autopsy.’
The policeman said the details of the incident have been sent to the British Embassy.

March 24 (Reuters) – Marlboro maker Philip Morris International Inc is working on options to exit the Russian market,
citing a complex and rapidly changing regulatory and operating environment in the country following its invasion of Ukraine.
The company, which garnered around 6% its net revenue from
Russia in 2021, said on Thursday it has discontinued sale of several cigarette products and canceled all product launches for the year in Russia.
It has also canceled plans to make over 20 billion TEREA sticks,
heated tobacco units intended for use with its IQOS ILUMA devices, as well as related investment of $150 million.
Earlier this month, Philip Morris had suspended its planned investments and decided to
scale down manufacturing operations in the country.
Rival Imperial Brands too has started talks to transfer its Russian business
to a local third party, joining BAT in exiting the sanction-hit country.

Joaquin Phoenix has revealed that he spoke with filmmaker Christopher Nolan about
playing Joker which ultimately went to Heath Ledger.
The 50-year-old actor – whose latest flick Joker: Folie À Deux
could be streamed now – got candid about potentially playing the supervillain before he
actually portrayed him.
Joaquin recently appeared on Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton podcast as he
revealed that he spoke to the 54-year-old Oscar-winning filmmaker
Nolan about portraying Joker over a decade before.
He said: That didn’t… wasn’t going to happen for a number of
reasons. I wasn’t ready then.
‘That’s one of those things sometimes where you go: “Why am I not doing this project? What is stopping me from doing this? Well it’s not about me, there’s something else. There’s another person that’s going to do something that’s like, I can’t imagine what it would be if we didn’t have Heath Ledger‘s performance in that film.”‘

Joker: Folie À Deux heading to streaming after box office flop
In 2020, Joaquin earned the Best Lead Actor Oscar for Todd Phillips directed Joker
which was 11 years after Ledger posthumously earned Best Supporting Actor for The Dark
Knight in 2009.
Joaquin continued: ‘I don’t know whether Christopher Nolan was
coming to me saying, “You are definitely the person.”
‘I can’t remember the context of how we met. But I know that we met, and my feeling was, “I shouldn’t do this.” But maybe he also was like, “You’re not the guy.”
I couldn’t say.’
Heath died in a New York City apartment on January 22, 2008,
after accidentally overdosing following months of physical and mental exhaustion.
The Dark Knight actor died aged 28 after taking a fatal cocktail of drugs, leaving behind his daughter, who
was two years old at the time.
Meanwhile Joker: Folie À Deux can now be streamed,
just weeks after its theatrical release.
The movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, is now available to rent from home starting October 29, in an effort to recoup
some of Warner Bros. investment into the film, as per Variety.
The musical, which bombed at the box office, is ‘poised to lose at
least $150 million to $200 million in its theatrical run’
according to the publication.

The movie studio spent about $200 million to produce the film and about $100 million on marketing and distribution, according to the report.
It would need to gross about $450 million at the box office to break even — when factoring in the cut taken by theaters — though Warner Bros.
sources claim the number is $375 million.
A Warner Bros. spokesperson responded to the report, saying ‘Any estimates suggested by
anonymous “insiders” or “rival executives” are grossly wrong and continues a trend
where rumor is reported as fact.’
‘The film continues to play in theatrical release, included with this week’s
opening in China, and will continue to earn revenue throughout its home viewing and ancillary run.’
So far, the musical about Batman’s nemesis has grossed
$51.5 million domestically and $165 million globally after two weeks of release.
In comparison, the first Joker grossed $96.2 million domestically and
$248.4 million globally after three days of release.
The hotly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 billion dollar Oscar-winning film was considered a surefire
hit for Warner Bros Pictures, yet ended up being slammed by critics and failed to ignite at the box office.

Phoenix reprised his role as the Joker in the sequel, which had earned him an Oscar
for his portrayal in the 2019 film, while Gaga took on the
role of Harleen Lee Quinzel (Harley Quinn).
However, Joker: Folie À Deux has been given a D rating on CinemaScore — the lowest score for
a comic book movie.
Madame Web — which notably also flopped in theaters earlier this
year and also received terrible reviews — holds a higher score with a C+.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds
an audience score of 31% and a critic score of 32%.
The sequel has been roundly criticized for being a musical and ‘ignoring’ the DC fanbase – with an agent familiar with director Todd
Phillips’ process telling Variety he ‘wanted nothing to do with
DC’ during the making of the film, with DC bosses James Gunn
and Peter Safran notably absent from the film’s LA premiere afterparty
last month.
A source said: ‘If the first movie was about some down-on-his-luck, mentally ill guy in a downtrodden city,
it makes maybe $150 [million] worldwide.
Not a billion. People showed up because that guy was Joker.’
In an apparent snub by Phillips, the opening sequence of the film does not include a DC
Studios logo.
A Warner spokesman added that a DC logo appears at the end of the Joker
sequel, while Phillips declined to comment to the
publication.
Several frictions are said to have developed between Phillips, DC and Warner- with claims that Michael DeLuca, Chairperson of Warner Bros.
Entertainment, and CEO Pamela Abdy seemed ‘unwilling’ to say no to Phillips due to his huge past
successes.
It is claimed Phillips would ‘only’ speak with DeLuca and Abdy rather
than Gunn and Safran – who took control of DC two months before production began on Joker 2 in December 2022.
Gunn and Safran did attend the first director’s cut
screening for the studio but Phillips fueled rift speculation when he told a reporter: ‘With all due respect to them,
this is kind of a Warner Bros. movie.’
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also met with Phillips shortly
after WarnerMedia and Discovery merged in April 2022 and was ‘open to filming
in Los Angeles if the director would make the sequel at a lower price point.’
The studio wanted to film in London which would have cost around 20 per cent less.
A source directly involved with the film recently
shared: ‘The one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay attention to what the fan expectations are, you’re going to fail’; director Todd Phillips seen with Gaga and Phoenix at the LA

However, Phillips insisted on filming in LA with the budget remaining static.
A Warner spokesman told the publication the studio ‘supported
the decision to film in Los Angeles’.
A source directly involved with the film said: ‘No one
could get through to Todd. And the one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t
listen and pay attention to what the fan expectations are,
you’re going to fail.
Insiders also claim studio bosses did not want to premiere
the film at the Venice Film Festival, but Phillips pushed
back – with a Warner spokesman saying the studio ‘fully supported
the decision to bring the film to Venice.
Along with Gaga and Phoenix, other stars that had appeared in the sequel include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Zazie Beatz and Steve Coogan.

LONDON, Sept 28 (Reuters) – Philip Morris International (PMI) on Thursday signalled a slower than anticipated U.S.
roll out of its IQOS heated tobacco device, a choice
analysts said was positive for its competitors in the short term.
The New York-listed Marlboro maker also said it aims for more than two thirds of its net
revenues to come from “smoke-free” products by 2030, up from 50% in 2025, as it tries to
transform its image from a cigarette purveyor to a driver of the shift to healthier
alternatives.
Investors have been closely watching IQOS’ entry into the U.S., the world’s largest market for
nicotine products, and had been expecting it from May 2024 next year.
Reuters reported on Wednesday that PMI is hiring lobbyists
across a host of key U.S. states ahead of the launch.
Chief Executive Jacek Olczak said IQOS would launch in four cities in two unnamed U.S.
states from 2024, but a national launch would only come after PMI receives approval to
sell the latest version, known as IQOS ILUMA.
The company was planning to apply for approval in October and expected it
from 2025, he continued.
“We need to warm up the tyres,” he said of the initial launch, which
would help PMI fine tune its approach.
A national roll-out of ILUMA would follow but in phases, he continued,
adding launching in 10 states in the first year would make sense.
Meaningful traction for PMI’s heated tobacco products in the U.S.
“now looks delayed until ILUMA,” Owen Bennett, equity analyst at Jefferies,
said in a note, adding this was a positive for PMI’s rivals.
Olczak also signalled that PMI’s push into non-nicotine products was no longer a priority.
It recently scrapped an ambition for $1 billion in net revenues to come from sales of such products
by 2025.
Instead, PMI will focus its resources on IQOS and
nicotine pouch brand ZYN, Olczak said, adding it had been too
optimistic around acceptance of big tobacco companies
operating outside of nicotine.
PMI also announced updated medium-term targets including for revenue
and earnings per share, and ambitious volume targets for IQOS and ZYN.
ZYN and other oral nicotine products in the U.S.
would help drive an expected $2 billion in revenues there in 2024,
even before IQOS ILUMA, executives said.
PMI shares were up 1.5% on Thursday. (Reporting by Emma Rumney in London and Granth Vanaik in Bengaluru;

After she did indeed run into Michael, the star recalled how they spoke for ‘three hours’
and had the most ‘amazing conversation’, with their meeting later leading to weeks worth of phone calls ahead of them finally going on a first date together where
they ‘fell in love’.
The pair’s relationship blossomed as Covid hit and they hunkered down in her Malibu
abode for over a year, with Gaga describing the break from her busy schedule
and cohabitation with the businessman as ‘really kind of special’

Lady Gaga puts on a loved-up display with her fiancé Michael Polansky at Joker premiere
Polansky is a 2006 graduate of Harvard University and runs Napster founder Sean Parker’s Parker Group.
Throughout their years dating, Gaga and Polansky have attended
the Super Bowl , the BAFTAs, and the Critics Choice Awards
together.
Lady Gaga and Michael reportedly decided to go their separate ways
in early 2023 due to the singer-songwriter wanting marriage and children and the tech executive not being ready to
take those steps.
The pair reportedly had an amicable dissolution to their coupling, and remained friends.
Then, in August 2023 they were spotted together for the first time in more than a year.
The singer has always been open about her desire to have a big family and
in 2013, she told Sirius XM radio she wants ‘at least three kids’.
She said: ‘I wanna have tons of kids. I think at least three.
I really want to have a family. I really want to have a family, I really want to nurture my children.
‘Having my own kids will be like having three little monsters with me all
the time. They probably won’t be fans, they will probably
hate my music – who knows.
Elsewhere, Gaga opened up about her love for fiancé Michael Polansky in a candid interview with Vogue
Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – told how it was actually her mother
Cynthia who met him first and thought he was perfect for her
daughter, telling the singer: ‘I think I just met your husband!’
‘I want to have a family, I want a family life. I grew up with a very
strong family and I can’t imagine not having a normal nuclear family.’
She also expressed the desire to start a family with Michael, 46, back in 2021 after their relationship started heating
up.
‘She has been telling her friends that she wants to get through a few projects and then focus on settling
down,’ a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
‘Gaga wants to have children one day and sees a future
with Michael.’
The entertainer had two previous engagements that were
called off.
She ended her engagement to Christian Carino in early 2019, and after becoming engaged to
actor Taylor Kinney in 2015 they broke up in 2016.

JAKARTA/LOS ANGELES, Nov 13 (Reuters) – Juul Labs Inc is exploring selling its compact vaping devices in Asia and has sounded out government officials in Indonesia,
one of the world’s most smoker-friendly countries, although gaining approval there
could face significant hurdles.
Expansion into Asia would provide the fast-growing firm with new markets at a time when it faces increased regulatory scrutiny in the United States and Israel over the potential health
risks of its products’ high nicotine content.
Juul representatives held discussions with the Indonesian government last month about introducing its vaping devices,
the country’s finance ministry officials told Reuters.
Indonesia has one of the world’s highest rates of smoking
among adults and teenage boys and imposes no penalties for selling cigarettes to minors.
It also has a population of 260 million, making it a highly attractive market for tobacco
and vaping firms.
A person familiar with Juul’s plans said executives for the San Francisco-based company
are concerned authorities may be reluctant to grant approval due
to likely opposition from the traditional tobacco
industry, which provides much of Indonesia’s tax revenue.
Tobacco taxes accounted for nearly 150 trillion rupiah ($10.2 billion) or about 11 percent of national tax revenue in 2017, government
data showed. Each province also imposes taxes on cigarettes.
Juul is also worried its argument that vaping is healthier than smoking will not hold much sway in Indonesia, which is not
as concerned as other countries about health issues, said the person, declining to be identified as the discussions
were not public.
Juul representatives reached out to the finance ministry to discuss how it would be taxed on any sales of devices there, the
Indonesian officials said.
The government needs to examine the domestic e-cigarette market to determine how a foreign player such as Juul could hurt local small and labour-intensive
e-cigarette firms, said Sunaryo, a senior official in Indonesia’s customs and excise office, who
like many Indonesians uses only one name.
“We will need it to study it,” he said, adding he wasn’t sure Juul would comply with a regulation that requires e-cigarette devices
and liquids to be sold separately.
Juul also would need approval from Indonesia’s
Food and Drug Agency. Officials at the agency said Juul had yet to be in touch.
Other Asian countries the three-year old firm is actively
considering for expansion include India, South Korea and
the Philippines, the person familiar with Juul’s plans said.
In addition to Indonesia, Juul filed trademark applications for those countries between April
and October 2018, as well as in Malaysia and Singapore, according to a Reuters review
of government filings. It opened its first Asia office in Singapore in July.
So far Juul, currently valued at $16 billion, is available only
in the United States, Canada, the UK and Israel.
It has plans to enter Russia later this year.
Juul said in a statement to Reuters it is “proactively learning more” and engaging
with local officials in Asia “to understand and hear their views.” It does not have immediate plans to launch in any Asian country, it said.
Juul spokeswoman Victoria Davis declined to elaborate.
A TAXING QUESTION
Indonesia is one of only a handful of United Nations member states
that has not signed on to the World Health Organization’s global treaty that sets standards for tobacco control.
Roughly two-thirds of Indonesian men smoke tobacco daily, and more
than 21 percent of boys aged 13-15 smoked cigarettes regularly,
according to a WHO report last year.
E-cigarettes, available in Indonesia since at least
2013, are a small but growing market. The customs office estimated there are about 300 unsupervised
liquid makers known as brewers in Indonesia, producing
various liquid products to more than 4,000 vape stores and 900,000 smokers.
Philip Morris International Inc, maker of Marlboro cigarettes, which now controls about a
third of Indonesia’s market through its stake in Sampoerna, does not offer any of its
non-combustible cigarette products in Indonesia.
That includes its IQOS device, a heat-not-burn tobacco product, according to a company
spokesman, who declined to comment on why it has
not introduced the product.
In October, the government imposed a 57 percent tax on electronic-cigarette liquids, on par with taxes on traditional cigarettes.
But tax collection, particularly from smaller companies, is difficult in Indonesia and new rules are often ignored.
Juul now commands nearly 75 percent of U.S.
e-cigarette market share, up from 13.6 percent in early
2017, according to a Wells Fargo analysis of Nielsen retail data.
Its products, like most electronic cigarettes, vaporize
a liquid containing nicotine. One Juul pod contains as much nicotine as a traditional
pack of 20 cigarettes, according to the company’s U.S.
marketing.
Juul liquid in the U.S. has a nicotine concentration of 59 milligrams per milliliter, much higher than the liquids typically sold in earlier versions of e-cigarettes and nearly three times the allowable limit in the
European Union.
In August, Israel banned Juul devices with nicotine concentration of more than 20 mg/mL, citing “a grave risk to public health.” Juul is appealing that decision and currently offers a
lower nicotine-strength electronic cigarette in Israel.
In September, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration opened an investigation into Juul and other electronic cigarette companies, citing the rising number of teens who appear to be using Juul and other vaping devices.
This week it is expected to issue a ban on fruit and candy-flavoured e-cigarettes sold in convenience stores and gas stations.
In its statement to Reuters, Juul said its products are intended for adult use only, and that it aims to “improve the lives of the world’s one billion adult smokers” by
providing an alternative to cigarettes.

Oct 22 (Reuters) – Philip Morris International’s (PMI) shares hit record highs on Tuesday after the cigarette maker raised
its annual profit forecast and beat third-quarter
estimates thanks to higher prices and strong demand for its smoking alternatives.
PMI has invested billions of dollars in developing substitutes for cigarettes as health-conscious consumers switch to smoking alternatives in some markets, including its IQOS heated tobacco device and ZYN nicotine pouches, which
are now a key focus for investors.
U.S. ZYN shipments in the quarter grew 41.4% over the prior-year period, rebounding after supply constraints curtailed
rapid growth. The Marlboro maker has been investing to expand production capacity for ZYN, in an effort
to meet strong demand.
The company’s flagship heated tobacco device, IQOS,
also saw strong growth in regions such as Japan, Europe and Indonesia,
reassuring investors after volumes lagged expectations in the
past.
“We delivered exceptionally strong performance, with record quarterly net revenues and earnings per share,”
said Chief Executive Officer Jacek Olczak, adding IQOS growth had
also accelerated.
PMI’s shares rose 9%, and remained almost 8% higher
at 11.43 a.m. (1543 GMT) in New York trading.
The company also enjoyed higher shipment volumes for cigarettes, with higher pricing also driving a
5.2% increase in revenues from its combustible tobacco business.
PMI raised its forecast for 2024 adjusted earnings
per share, excluding currency, to between $6.85 and $6.91, compared with its prior range of $6.67 to $6.79.
It reported revenue of $9.91 billion for the third quarter,
versus analysts’ estimates of $9.69 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG.
Its quarterly adjusted profit of $1.91 per share also beat estimates
of $1.82 per share.
Last week, Philip Morris said it, along with peers British American Tobacco and Japan Tobacco, would
pay C$32.5 billion ($23.6 billion) to settle
long-running health-related lawsuits in Canada. (Reporting by Anuja Bharat Mistry in Bengaluru;

Joker: Folie À Deux director Todd Phillips ‘wanted nothing to
do with DC’ during making of the $200million flop film,
a new report has claimed.
The hotly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 billion dollar Oscar-winning
film – stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and was considered a surefire hit for Warner Bros Pictures – but was slammed by
critics and failed to ignite at the box office.
The sequel has been roundly criticized for being a musical and ‘ignoring’ the DC fanbase – with an agent familiar with Phillips’ process telling Variety he ‘wanted nothing to do
with DC’ during the making of the film, with DC bosses James
Gunn and Peter Safran notably absent from the film’s
LA premiere afterparty last month.
A source said: ‘If the first movie was about some down-on-his-luck, mentally
ill guy in a downtrodden city, it makes maybe $150 [million] worldwide.
Not a billion. People showed up because that guy was Joker.’
In an apparent snub by Phillips, the opening sequence of the film does not include a DC Studios
logo.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds an audience score of 31% and a critic score of 32%

Joker: Folie À Deux is branded ‘bleak’ and the ‘most disappointing follow-up’ by critics
A Warner spokesman added that a DC logo appears at the end of the Joker sequel.
while Phillips declined to comment to the publication.
Several frictions are said to have developed between Phillips, DC and Warner- with claims
that Michael DeLuca, Chairperson of Warner Bros.
Entertainment, and CEO Pamela Abdy seemed ‘unwilling’ to say no
to Phillips due to his huge past successes.
It is claimed Phillips would ‘only’ speak with DeLuca
and Abdy rather than Gunn and Safran – who took control of DC
two months before production began on Joker 2 in December 2022.
Gunn and Safran did attend the first director’s cut screening for
the studio but Phillips fueled rift speculation when he told a reporter:
‘With all due respect to them, this is kind of a Warner Bros.
movie.’
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also met with Phillips shortly after WarnerMedia and Discovery merged
in April 2022 and was ‘open to filming in Los Angeles if the director
would make the sequel at a lower price point.’
The studio wanted to film in London which would have cost around 20
per cent less.
However, Phillips insisted on filming in LA with the budget remaining static.

Joker: Folie À Deux has garnered the lowest CinemaScore in comic
book movie history as the film bombed at the box office on opening night.
It has only made $114million worldwide against its $200million budget.
The psychological musical thriller — which has been criticized
as ‘bleak’ and ‘disappointing’ — officially released in theaters on Friday,
October 4, but it only raked in $20 million at
the domestic box office, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Phoenix reprised his role as the Joker in the sequel, which had earned him an Oscar for his portrayal
in the 2019 film, while Gaga took on the role of Harleen Lee Quinzel (Harley
Quinn).
However, Joker: Folie À Deux has been given a D rating on CinemaScore — the lowest score for a comic book movie.
Madame Web — which notably also flopped in theaters earlier this year and also received terrible reviews — holds
a higher score with a C+.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie currently holds an audience score of 31% and a critic score of 32%.
The sequel is projected to rake in less that $50 million at the domestic box office during the entirety of opening weekend,
per The Hollywood Reporter.
Weeks ago, the movie had been projected to bring in around $70 million –
but the number has since drastically dropped.
Joker (2019) notably opened with $96.2 million when the film first released in theaters – and eventually landed a little over $1
billion in the global box office.
The first movie – which was also directed by Todd Phillips – had
a budget of between $55 and $70 million. However, the budget increased for Folie À
Deux to around $200 million.
The 2019 movie garnered praise and positive reviews from both critics and audiences – and won the Golden Lion during the 76th Venice International Film Festival.
Joaquin received an Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of the
Joker (Arthur Fleck) – and the film garnered an additional Academy Award for Best Original Score.
The sequel also screened during the Venice International Film Festival last month in September,
where it earned a 12-minute standing ovation, per Deadline.
A source directly involved with the film said: ‘No one could get through to Todd.
And the one thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay attention to
what the fan expectations are, you’re going to fail.
However, audiences have since taken to X after the movie released in theaters on Friday – and
shared their opinions on the sequel, which features musical sequences.
One fan penned, ‘Joaquin Phoenix don’t deserve this.
what happened to the script?’ while another added, ‘is it that bad,’ followed by a crying face emoji.
‘Ironically I feel that a musical, if done well, could have been a good choice.
It’d show how much of an unreliable narrator Fleck is,’ one typed.
‘But with some original songs, that keep everything vague, not just covers.
Also when I heard of the ending I snorted fr.’
A social media user wrote, ‘Stop making sequels as musicals if
the original wasn’t a musical.’
‘Maybe he [Phillips] only had an hour long movie,
and decided to randomly add musical scenes to fill the runtime,’ one penned.
‘Joker downfall really needs to be studied,
‘ another shared, along with a monkey staring out a window.
One fan said, ‘the movie sucks. i had to walk out of
the cinema,’ while another penned, ‘After years of disagreement….*Joker 2 releases* Critics [shaking hands] Audience.’

‘That’s way below what we expected,’ one wrote in regards to the
current Rotten Tomatoes scores. ‘People are saying this is the worst sequel
ever.’
A fan explained, ‘yea this film was bad. it was pretentious and dull.
has the aesthetic of an arthouse film without the substance.’
‘It also insults the audience’s intelligence. the songs were also underwhelming too.
they shouldn’t have let this escape to theaters.’
One shared, ‘The audience that loved the first movie is not the same audience running to see musicals.
This was a gigantic mistake from step 1.’
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Phillips discussed whether
he would be interested in making a third Joker film or a movie centered around Gaga’s character.
‘It’s not really where this movie is headed for me.
I feel like my time in the DC Universe was these two films.’
Ahead of the movie’s release, Lady Gaga also dropped
an accompanying album titled Harlequin on September 27.
Joker: Folie À Deux has been branded the ‘most disappointing
follow-up to the Oscar-winning movie’ by critics, as they cast doubt on Lady Gaga’s ‘thin’ role in the film following its release on Friday.

The ‘bleak’ sequel, has also received a tepid reception from fans, with some claiming Lady Gaga’s career could be at risk.
While the same director Todd Phillips was back in the hot seat, critics have said the sequel is just a ‘repeat’ of the first hit but with an added musical
twist.
Most critics have said Todd failed to use Gaga correctly in the movie and claimed she
was only bought in for the musical aspect of it.
While the majority of critics say Joker: Folie À Deux didn’t live up to expectations, others have dubbed the movie ‘bold’ and ‘brilliant.’
Daily Mail’s Brian Viner commended the move as ‘bold’ and ‘brilliant’ but said it lacked any thrill.
The Independent’s Geoffrey Macnab said: ‘Today Joker is best remembered as one of the most subversive and
original films of the last decade, while its hugely anticipated sequel is just as bleak
and formally daring as its predecessor’.
Meanwhile, the Irish Times’ Donald Clarke gave the movie just two stars but credited Phillips’ work for making a sequel following
the first movie’s $1billion success.
Financial Times critic Danny Leigh said although Gaga
worked hard to bump the ratings up in the sequel, Phillips appeared to have no idea what to
do with her.
Giving a three star rating, The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw claimed the movie proves ‘claustrophobic’ and ‘repetitive.’
Joker: Folie À Deux has been branded the ‘most disappointing follow-up to the Oscar-winning movie’ by critics, as they cast doubt on Lady
Gaga’s ‘thin’ role in the film following its release on Friday; seen in September in London
The Times’ Kevin Maher wrote: ‘The director Todd Phillips said there
would be no follow-up to the original, but he changed his mind and the
result is a derivative musical’
‘This might be the most disappointing follow-up to
an Oscar-winning performance since Anthony Hopkins reworked
his silky and terrifying Dr Lecter from for the
campy, kitschy.’
Along with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, other stars that had appeared in the sequel include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine
Keener, Zazie Beatz and Steve Coogan.
Joker: Folie à Deux has faced additional
backlash from fans as they have claimed that Gaga is running
the risk of losing her acting career.

PARIS (AP) – Not even a tense tête-à-tête in the gold medal game could spoil the vibe
at Paris´ biggest beach party.
Canada´s Brandie Wilkerson and Brazil´s Ana Patrícia got into a finger-pointing
shouting match across the net in the tiebreaking third set of the beach
volleyball final of the Paris Olympics on Friday night.
The referee tried to keep the peace, but it was the Eiffel Tower Stadium
DJ who cooled tempers on the sand by playing John Lennon´s
“Imagine” over the PA system.
The players laughed and clapped. The crowd applauded and sang
along.
Wilkerson was shown a yellow card.
The top-ranked Brazilians left with the gold medal.
“We`re competitors and we are fighting for the same thing: There´s only one gold medal,” Wilkerson said during a post-match news conference in which
the two laughed and jokingly put up their fists as if they were
going to brawl it out.

“Immediately after the game, it´s all love and respect,” she said.
“We bring out the best in each other, and I´m honored to play against this team.”
Ana Patrícia and Duda rallied from an 11-5 deficit to take the first-to-21, win-by-two first set 26-24, and
Canada won the second 21-12. Brazil opened up a 12-7 lead in the first-to-15 tiebreaker when,
after a joust at the net, Wilkerson and Ana Patrícia began pointing fingers at each other.
The second referee, the one at sand level, moved out to separate the two players, but Wilkerson continued to argue and picked
up a yellow card. As the Brazilians got into position to serve for the next point, the DJ began playing “Imagine,”
the late Beatle’s song calling for unity and peace.
The message resonated with the players.
“What a beautiful opportunity we have to play the finals under the Eiffel Tower against the best in the world,” Wilkerson said.
“Like, that, in of itself, is a win.”
Wilkerson told reporters afterward that it was all a misunderstanding:
She was responding to her family, cheering in the crowd behind the Brazilians, and Ana Patrícia thought Wilkerson was
taunting her.
“We´re pretty amped up, partners are coming in, refs are coming in. So it was a bit of a mess,” Wilkerson said.
“But after the game, and even right when they came to shake our hands, still on the court, there was an immediate hug and just kind of like, `Hey, it´s all good.´”
When play resumed, it took Brazil only five more points
to finish off Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes,
kicking off a party the sport’s spiritual home hadn’t seen since
hosting the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games at Copacabana.
In Tokyo, the country was shut out at the Summer Games for the first time since beach volleyball was added to the program in 1996.
Three years later, Brazil not only returned to the podium but climbed to its top step.
With the Eiffel Tower’s strobes sparking in the background and yellow- and green-wearing fans singing and waving Brazilian flags, the country was awarded its first women’s gold
since Atlanta. (The United States, which had won four of the last five, was
shut out in both the men’s and women’s tournaments in Paris.)
After the medal ceremony, the Canadians and Brazilians – along with the bronze-winning Swiss – posed for selfies together.
Wilkerson and Ana Patrícia spoke to each other and hugged;
there may have even been an air kiss.
“It was a game thing,” Ana Patrícia said. “Everybody wants to win. But it happens. It´s everybody trying to win, but now everything is OK.”
Wilkerson and Humana-Paredes will return to Canada with the country’s
first beach volleyball medal since the men won bronze at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
That team was coached by Humana-Paredes’ father.
Switzerland beat Australia in straight sets in the third-place
game earlier Friday night to earn the bronze medal.
Nina Brunner and Tanja Huerberli beat Tokyo silver medalists Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe
Artacho del Solar 21-17, 21-15 in 39 minutes. It was the second
Summer Games in a row that a Swiss team took the bronze medal, coming three years after Joana Heidrich and Anouk Vergé-Dépré placed third in Tokyo.
On the men’s side, Sweden was set to face Germany for gold on Saturday night,
with Norway and Qatar playing for the bronze.

BANGKOK, Nov 7 (Reuters) – Thailand’s economy stands
to gain from any U.S.-China trade war, Thai Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan said on Thursday, adding the Southeast Asian country had good
relations with both nations and would not need to take sides in a dispute.
In a trade war, U.S. imports of Chinese goods would drop and Thai products should replace them, meaning that Thai exports to the U.S
will increase, he told reporters.
“We have a good balance between the U.S and China … the Americans love us, the Chinese love us, we don’t have to choose sides,” he said, adding a
delegation of American businesses visit Thailand in November.
Pichai said he hoped for more investment from the United States, citing plans by hard disk producers Seagate
and Western Digital to expand their existing operations in Thailand.

LONDON, Sept 28 (Reuters) – Philip Morris International (PMI) on Thursday signalled a slower than anticipated U.S.
roll out of its IQOS heated tobacco device, a choice analysts said was positive for its competitors in the short term.
The New York-listed Marlboro maker also said it aims for more than two thirds of its net revenues to come from “smoke-free” products by 2030, up from 50% in 2025,
as it tries to transform its image from a cigarette purveyor to a
driver of the shift to healthier alternatives.
Investors have been closely watching IQOS’ entry into the U.S., the world’s largest market for nicotine products, and had
been expecting it from May 2024 next year. Reuters reported on Wednesday that PMI is hiring lobbyists across a host
of key U.S. states ahead of the launch.
Chief Executive Jacek Olczak said IQOS would
launch in four cities in two unnamed U.S. states from
2024, but a national launch would only come after PMI receives approval to sell the latest version,
known as IQOS ILUMA.
The company was planning to apply for approval in October and expected it from
2025, he continued.
“We need to warm up the tyres,” he said of the initial launch,
which would help PMI fine tune its approach.
A national roll-out of ILUMA would follow but
in phases, he continued, adding launching in 10 states in the first
year would make sense.
Meaningful traction for PMI’s heated tobacco products in the U.S.
“now looks delayed until ILUMA,” Owen Bennett, equity analyst at Jefferies, said
in a note, adding this was a positive for PMI’s rivals.
Olczak also signalled that PMI’s push into non-nicotine products was no longer
a priority. It recently scrapped an ambition for $1
billion in net revenues to come from sales of such products by 2025.
Instead, PMI will focus its resources on IQOS and nicotine pouch brand ZYN, Olczak said, adding it had been too optimistic around acceptance of big tobacco companies operating
outside of nicotine.
PMI also announced updated medium-term targets including
for revenue and earnings per share, and ambitious volume
targets for IQOS and ZYN.
ZYN and other oral nicotine products in the U.S.
would help drive an expected $2 billion in revenues there in 2024,
even before IQOS ILUMA, executives said.
PMI shares were up 1.5% on Thursday. (Reporting by Emma Rumney in London and Granth Vanaik in Bengaluru; additional reporting by Ananya Mariam Rajesh in Bengaluru; Writing by Emma Rumney;

As we review, the Parliament had just two preferences.
Marlboro sticks had an excessive number of flavors, upwards of six.
HEETS are not a long way behind at this point!
In the fall of 2018, they delivered two all the more new
flavors. Think about them in more detail.
Sticks HEETS Amber Label
We start the audit with the most grounded sticks.
Hits Amber has the most extreme tobacco flavor. The smell, incidentally, as it appeared to
me, is more grounded from it than from different brands.
Indeed, even to taste more grounded than the standard Blue
Parliament. Along with every one of its signs like
strength and taste, you can prescribe it to the individuals who are attempting to begin smoking IQOS after ordinary cigarettes..
Sticks HEETS Yellow Label :
Yellow hits are a light form of golden. At the point when you ask parliament in a store,
propose it, saying that it is just about as comparative as could be expected..
All things considered, as a rule, smoking isn’t sickening, for regular use, most smokers
will fulfill.Sticks HEETS Turquoise Label :
Menthol turquoise hits. Menthol appeared to me sharply,
and too solid, similar to Mint Marlborough. I didn’t
care. Albeit the flavor of tobacco is practically not felt, everything is stopped up
with mint. All things considered, no fortification, maybe even not
exactly in yellow.
Sticks HEETS Purple Label
A purple bunch of worms loaded up with berry fragrance.
It smells emphatically, mint and currants. The taste
is adjusted, lovely. Not all that minty, not solid on tobacco, excessively fragrant,
but rather generally speaking the best.Sticks HEETS Bronze Label
Bronze brand of IQOS sticks, with a brilliant taste of chocolate, and a delicate completion of cocoa with dried natural products.
Basically the same as chocolate Capitan dark.
Chocolate-rich tobacco sweethearts will see
the value in it. For me by and by, this taste looks like
my number one line tobacco from WO Larssen.Sticks HEETS Green Zing
Incredible reviving taste! Feels citrus. Promptly sweet and lingering flavor with a slight acridity.
Basically the same as the sweet cigarettes from Mack Barren, and lime gives this outcome.
When all is said in done, not for regular pokur, yet to
enhance – totally
