９月９日にアメリカで公開されたCGアニメ「９」のもとになった短編。人類が絶滅し荒廃した地球において、意識をもった人形「９」とその仲間たちが、巨大な怪物ロボットの追跡から逃れようとする…といった内容の作品らしい。
短編を観る限りではロボットとの戦い方とかはあまり目新しいところがなくて、アクション・ゲームのオープニングムービーのような感じがするのは否めない。でもキャラクターデザインは斬新だしアニメの出来も良いので、結構楽しめる作品になっている。
劇場版の評判も概ね良いようなので機会があれば観てみたいものですが、果たして日本での公開はいつになることやら。
