主演のナタリー・ポートマンがスキンヘッド姿でカンヌに現れたことで、知名度がグンと上がった感のある「V FOR VENDETTA」だが、原作者のアラン・ムーアが映画の脚本を批判してるらしい。全体主義下のイギリスが舞台の作品なのに、例によってイギリスのことなんか何も知らないハリウッドの連中がトンチンカンな設定を創作しているんだとか。あと製作のジョエル・シルバーが勝手に自分の名前を挙げて宣伝に使ったのにもムカついてるらしい。
ムーアが人の悪口を言うのは決して珍しいことではないが、今までは自分の作品が映画化されても「俺には関係ねーや」的な態度で通してきた彼が、脚本を批判するのは異例のことだ。映画化は大丈夫なんだろうか…？ ムーアの作品でも「リーグ・オブ・レジェンド」こと「LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN」なんかは原作通りに映画化することは出来っこないと最初から腹をくくっていたので、ジェームズ・ロビンソンがどんなアレンジを加えるかな、という見方ができて結構楽しめた（たぶん、「ウォッチメン」もこんな感じになるだろう）けど、「V」は努力すれば原作通りに映画化できる作品だと思うので、ぜひウォシャウスキー兄弟たちには頑張ってほしい。本当はＢＢＣあたりがミニ・シリーズ化するのが一番いいとは思うけど。
前にも何度か書いたが、どうも過大評価されてる感のある「ウォッチメン」よりも「V」の方が個人的には優れていると思う。初めて読んだ時には、アナーキズムを扱った作品の内容に大きな衝撃をうけたものだ（ムーアのアナーキズム観については、オニオンのインタビューが非常に面白い）。
ちなみにこれに関連して、DCの指図に嫌気がさしたムーアは「EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN」の第３シリーズをDC傘下のワイルドストームではなく、別の出版社から出すことにしたとか。ムーアがDCを徹底的に嫌ってることは周知の事実だったので、こういうことが起きるのは時間の問題だったのかもしれない。しかし「EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN」って第２シリーズの最後でチームが解散（うち２人は死亡）してるんだけど、第３シリーズはどんな展開になるんだろう？？？
