チケットが余ってるということで知り合いから誘われ、デンマークのバンド「ザ・レヴォネッツ」のライヴを観に行く。会場オープンが10時くらいで、前座が２バンド出て、メインアクトが登場するのは12時過ぎというのが、やはり日本とは違う。こっちはパブでもバーでもライブハウスでも全部禁煙なので、隣の奴のタバコに焼かれるといった目に遭わないのがうれしい。 名前はちょっと知ってたものの音楽はまるで聴いたことのないバンドだったけど、男女２人組とサポート３人という編成で、音楽はサイコビリー調でたまに60年代ポップスのカバーをやるような感じ。ギター３本という肉厚なサウンドはよかったものの、ボーカルが聴き取りにくく、３分くらいの似た曲が何曲も繰り返される、というワンパターンな感じは否めない。数年前にもライヴを観たことのある知り合いも、「今回はちょっとイマイチだった」みたいなことを言ってた。
クランプスなんかに比べれば演奏スタイルは非常にストレートだったけど、男のメンバーのほうが、何というか中東の雑貨屋の怪しい店長というような、実にあぶなそうな目つきをしてたのが印象に残ってるのであります。
