「恋とニュースのつくり方」鑑賞

震災のあとに観て楽しめるかなと思いつつ映画館に行ったんだけど、いい気分転換になった。皆さんもこういう息抜きをおすすめします。

内容はレイチェル・マクアダムス演じるTVプロデューサーの主人公が念願の全国ネットワークに就職して早朝番組を担当するものの、その番組の視聴率は最低でキャスターもやる気なし。そこで彼女は大ナタをふるって男性キャスターを解雇し、ハリソン・フォード演じるベテランニュースキャスターを夜の番組から連れてくるが、彼は堅気なニュースにこだわる頑固者で…というようなもので、働く女性ものの映画としてはまあベタな出来かな。

でも話のテンポが速くて観てて飽きないうえ、登場人物のやりとりもなかなか巧妙で面白い。風刺というわけではないけどテレビにおけるニュースと娯楽のバランスについて語られたり、頑固オヤジが徐々に心を開いていくあたりもうまく描けてるかな。ハリソン・フォードってご存知の通り演技の幅がとても狭い人で、本人ももはや演技に対する情熱があまり残ってなさそうなので主役として映画を抱えるのはしんどいところにきてたんだが、この作品では脇役にまわり、彼がいま唯一ちゃんと演じられる役であろう頑固オヤジを好演している。キャスターとして彼とタッグを組むダイアン・キートンは、ここ最近お馴染みとなった「変人だけど寛容なオールドミス」という役柄で、もうちょっと他の役も演じようよと思うけど、まあ似合ってるからいいや。主人公のボーイフレンドを演じるパトリック・ウィルソンだけがとってつけたような役柄の気がしたけど、どうも働く女性ものの映画って彼氏の存在がおろそかになるようで。もちろん主人公のマクアダムスはいい感じですよ。

映画館まで観に行くほどの作品ではないかもしれないけど、DVDやテレビでさらっと観るなら十分に楽しめるであろう佳作。
