とりあえず仕事と住む家が見つかったんで、ブログを再開しますです。更新してない間にでも１日に20件くらいヒットがあったようで、閲覧してくれた方・トラックバックを送ってくれた方、どうもありがとうございました。以前のように毎日更新はできないだろうけど、なるべく中身を新鮮に保ちたいと思う次第です。 しかしカナダから帰ってからもうすぐ４ヶ月になるけど、なんか就職活動にやたら時間がかかったなあ、という感じ。初の転職だし、映像業界という狭い分野での職探しだったので、容易ではないことは想像してたけど、それでも長かったと思う。この業界の会社ってオープンでは人材募集してないものの、人材紹介会社なんかには結構求人募集が来てるんだけど、その大半が「小売り業界でのマーケティング経験者希望」という、俺とはいまいち関連のない職種だったため、箸にも棒にもかからない毎日を過ごしていたわけです。でもさ、靴とか化粧品とか売ってた連中に映画やテレビ番組の売り方が分かるものでもないだろうと思うのだけど。そんなところまでハリウッドのマネしてどうすんだろう。
あといろんな人材紹介会社に赴いていったけど、ああいうところもピンからキリまであるもんですね。それなりに親身になって職を紹介してくれるところもあれば、偉そうなこと言ってるわりには何１つ職を紹介してこないとこもあるし。意外にもいちばんダメだったのが業界大手のリクルートエイブリックで、まず診断をするっていうから経歴書を送ったら、「ご経歴に沿うものがございませんでした」と言ってきたから、まあ特殊な業界だから仕方ないかな、と思ってたら後にグダグダと言い訳を書き連ねてて、「うちは即戦力になる人を探してますから…」といったことを書いてたから、即戦力にならなくて悪かったな、とムカついた次第です。しかも「うちで扱ってる情報は全体のほんの数パーセントでして…」みたいなことも書いてたけど、じゃああれだけ偉そうに宣伝してるのは何なの？と思ってしまうし、しまいには「求人紹介を希望の方はアンケートに返答ください…」なんて最後に書いてきてたけどさ、アンケートなんかよりも何倍も詳しい情報の載った経歴書を送ったってのに、あんたら何を基準にして求人紹介してるわけ？
就職については他にも言いたいことがあるけど、愚痴ばかり書いてても仕方ないのでやめます。
ちなみに就職中はホシガリマセンカツマデワ、ということで映画もDVDも鑑賞を自粛してました。海外に比べると日本の映画館の入場料が詐欺のように高く感じられるってのもあるけど。「宇宙戦争」なんかは早速DVD化されるそうで、こうなるともう劇場に行くのやめて、３ヶ月くらい待ってDVDを買った方がずっと得なんじゃないかと思ってしまう。ちなみに「ファンタスティック・フォー」は…見とくべきなのかなあ。あれって俺が読んで育ったFFとは別物のように思えるのですが。「シン・シティ」はヒットしてるようで、その一方で「銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド」は誰も観てなさそう、というのは予想通りか。しかし韓流ブームがここまで長続きするとは思わなんだ。個人的にはまるで興味ない分野だけど、今じゃどこの会社もハリウッドより韓国作品、という風潮のようで。今年のハリウッド映画にろくなヒット作がない、というのも影響してるのだろうけど。
それでもってスランプ続きの劇場映画と、販売の伸び率が落ちてきたDVD市場というダブルパンチにあえいだメジャー・スタジオが次なる資金源として目を向けているのがオンラインでの映像送信で、これはここ数ヶ月の間にアメリカだけでなく日本でもいろんな会社が動きに動きまくっているという感じ。多くのスタジオが映画関連のドットコム会社を買収したり、楽天がTBSの株を取得したり。マイクロソフトも参入してくるというから、来年あたりは競争が本格的になるかなあ…と考えてたら、なんとアップルが今週からABCのテレビドラマの配信を始めてしまった。最初はミュージックビデオだけの販売かと思ってたけど、うまくピクサーとの契約をちらつかせて、ジョブスがディズニーに言い寄ったんだろうなあ。俺もそういった系統の会社に就職したのだけど、こんなに多くの会社が参入してる市場で生き延びれるのか実に不安なところです。ちなみになんかアメリカの会社はライブラリ、つまり過去の作品の権利確保に力を入れるのに対し、日本の会社は番組の制作能力に力を入れているような気がするんだけど、これって見当違いでしょうか。
まあそんなこんなで、映画や海外ドラマやアメコミの話などをダラダラと書き連ねていきたいと思うので、今後ともよろしくお願いします。
