唯一無二のバンド、ラモーンズのドキュメンタリー。構成自体はかなり典型的で、関係者のコメントを交えながらバンドの結成から解散までを淡々と紹介していく形式になっている。しかしラモーンズという伝説的なバンドの内面深くにまで光を当てていることや、貴重な映像が見られるだけでも一見に値するだろう。しかもラモーンズが影響を与えたミュージシャンへのインタビューが多数あり、彼らが初めてロンドンへ来たときのことを語るジョー・ストラマーのコメントなどはとても貴重だと思う。個人的にはキャプテン・センシブルやジェイン（ウェイン）・カウンティなどが出てきたのが面白かったかな。
初期の映像は白黒ばかりなのだけど、それなりに味のある映像になっているのが不思議。ライブの最中に次に何の曲を演奏するかでケンカしている姿には笑った。80年代になってMTV世代にウケようと作った変なミュージック・クリップとかには幻滅したが。とにかくレコードが期待したほど売れなかったのがずっとネックになっていたらしく、90年代に彼らが影響を与えたバンド（グランジ系とか）の人気が出てきたから、今度はやっと売れるかなと思ったらダメだった、というのが解散の一因になっているのが何とも皮肉である。
意外だったのはバンド末期になっても南米ではスタジアムを満員にできるほどの人気を誇っていたことで、乗り込んだ車がビートルズみたいに無数のファン（女の子とかではなくてストリートチルドレン）に追いかけられている映像も出てきたりする。バンド初期のころイギリスの将来に失望した（NO FUTURE）若者たちに支持されたように、南米の貧しい子供たちにラモーンズは希望を与えているんだ、というコメントが印象的だ。
この他にもジョーイとジョニーの確執とか、ディー・ディーの鬱憤とか、フィル・スペクターの話とかがいろいろ出てくるのだけど、とにかく70年代のNYパンクが好きな人にとっては必見の作品じゃないでしょうか。逆にそこらへんの音楽事情にウトい人にはつまらないだろうけど。あと文句を言わせてもらえば、他の作品（「Blank Generation」や「ルード・ボーイ」とか）から転用したバンドの映像が多かったことか。ちょっとつぎはぎだらけの作品を見ているような気になってしまった。まあ当時の映像記録は少ないから仕方ないんだけどね。ワンツースリーフォー。
