「ゼロ・ダーク・サーティ」鑑賞

イラク駐留軍の日々を淡々と追った「ハート・ロッカー」よりも、こちらのほうがビン・ラディン狩りという一貫した目的がストーリーの軸となっているために作品としてはずっと面白いな。日々が過ぎていくことの焦燥感とか、CIAの決意なども「アルゴ」よりうまく描けてたのでは。主人公のバックグラウンドが全く紹介されていないにも関わらず熱意に共感できるようになってるのは巧いなと。

軍のプロパガンダだとか拷問の肯定をしているなどと叩かれているけど、これは単にキャスリン・ビグローの作家性の表れでしょう。サスペンスの最中にしれっとガールトークを入れてくるあたりが女性監督のセンスなのかしらん。そのあとすぐ爆弾テロが起きてたけど。

ただやはり拷問の扱いについてはモヤモヤとした気分が残るのは確かで、非アメリカ人の有色人種としては、拷問される側の身になって観てしまうんだよな。最初は拷問から距離をおいていた主人公が後に慣れてくるところよりも、オバマ政権になって「捕虜に弁護士がつけられたから情報が聞き出せなくなった」というセリフが出てきたところが不気味だったな。拷問にしろ主人公の最後の涙にしろ、タイトル通りの真っ暗な虚無を表しているのだとは思うけど、やはり煮え切らない気分になってしまったよ。

出演者のうちジェシカ・チャステインはやはりケツアゴに目がいってしまうがタフな女性を熱演。あとはジェイソン・クラークとかジョエル・エドガートンとかマーク・ストロングとか、彼女を助ける男性たちが殆ど非アメリカ人の俳優で固められてるのは何か思惑があるのだろうか。あとカイル・チャンドラーって最近顔色悪くない？

そしてビン・ラディンの片腕探しから居住地の襲撃に至るまでの流れは極上のサスペンス。ビン・ラディンが住んでいることが確信できないまま襲撃の許可が出されたことは知らなかったな。しかし当初はこのような結末は想定されておらず、ビン・ラディン狩りの終わりのなさを描いた脚本になってたらしいが、そちらはいったいどういう結末になってたんだろう？
