「高慢と偏見とゾンビ」鑑賞

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies「ジェーン・オースティンの小説にゾンビが加わった！」という斬新（だった）設定が大受けした2009年のマッシュアップ小説を映画化したもの。

小説のヒットを受けて当然のごとくすぐさま映画化権が買われ、当初はナタリー・ポートマンが主演だのデビッド・O・ラッセルが監督だのと威勢のいいニュースが出てきていたが、なんかいろいろあるうちに製作が遅れスタッフも離れていき、今年になってやっとこさ製作されたということらしい。なんか一発芸のようなネタを何年も引きずりまわした結果、気の抜けたものになってしまった印象は否めない。アサイラム社ならこんな作品３ヶ月で作ってるぞ。やはり原作が下手にヒットしてしまうと製作陣も力を入れすぎてしまうのかなあ。

なおジェーン・オースティンって、90年代に「オサレな女子のための文学書。登場人物みんなの年収が書かれていて面白いね、ハハハ」みたいに扱われて流行ってたという印象がありまして、まあ個人的には大大大大嫌いな作家であるわけですね。ろくに読んでないけど。よって原作も大学の授業で数章読んだくらいで内容はよく知らないのですが、ツンデレ女とダーシー君が結びついて終わるんでしょ？以上！

んでこっちは当然ながらゾンビが出てくるわけで、エキゾチックな異国からやってきたゾンビの病に国の老若男女が冒されるなか、貴族の婦女子たちは護身のお作法として日本や中国でマーシャルアーツを学び、ゾンビの猛威を蹴散らしつつも良家の男子に嫁ぐために花嫁稼業に励むのでした…という内容。

よって恋愛コメディとアクションが入り混じっているわけだが、なんかとても中途半端な内容になってしまっている。華麗な女子たちがスラリと剣や銃を抜いてゾンビをなぎ倒すはずが、夜や屋内のアクションが多くてどうも画面が見づらいのよな。アクションシーンは役者たちがスタントなしで演じたらしいが、こういうのを良しとする風潮って個人的には疑問を感じてまして、どうせ映画なんてフェイクの世界なんだから、より良い映像が撮れるのならスタント（ウー）マンを使えばいいのに。おかげで殺陣もなんか生ぬるい出来になっていたよ。

また恋愛コメディのほうですが、まず主人公たち5人姉妹の顔の見分けがつかない！加えて身内以外にはみんな「ミス・ベネット」と呼ばれるので名前もよく分からない！主人公はケネス・ブラナーの「シンデレラ」の人かい？話の進み方もなんかまどろっこしいところがあるのですが、こういうのって原作知ってればもっと楽しめるのかしらん。役者ではチャールズ・ダンスとかレナ・ヘドリーといった「ゲーム・オブ・スローンズ」の人たちや、11代目ドクター・フーことマット・スミスが出ております。

これもっと型破りな、悪趣味なコメディにしてたらもっと面白くなったと思うのだがなあ。２つのジャンルを混ぜてるのに、メリハリがなくて全体的に単調なトーンになってしまったのが勿体ない。やはりジェーン・オースティンはダメだね（という結論にしておく）。
