日本では「アンダー・ザ・スキン　種の捕食」の題で10月に公開だそうな。

何もない宇宙から何もないスコットランドにやってきた、スカーレット・ヨハンソン型の宇宙人。彼女は死んだ少女の服を身にまとい、バンを乗り回しながら道を尋ねるふりをして通りの男性たちに声をかけて車内に誘う。彼女とねんごろな関係になれると期待した男たちはいそいそと彼女に従うのですが、彼女の家で服を脱ぎだしたところで暗闇にズブズブと沈んでいき、中身を吸われて哀れ皮だけの存在に…というようなストーリー。

お色気宇宙人に男が餌食になる「スペース・バンパイア」とか「スピーシーズ」を思わせるような設定ですが、中身は全く似てなくて、何の説明もなく断片化された話が続く、コテコテのアートフィルムになっている。70年代のアートなSF映画、特にニコラス・ローグの「地球に落ちてきた男 」に雰囲気は似ているかな。

不安をかきたてるような音楽にのせて描かれる、スコットランドの夜景とか男たちが餌食になるシーンはとても美しくて、批評家たちに絶賛されたのは分かるのですが、じゃあ観てて面白いかというとそうでもなく…。正直なところ結構しんどかったな。

でも寡黙な宇宙人の役に、ビッチな雰囲気のスカヨハはよく似合っている。あとはライダースーツを着た、セブン上司のような宇宙人も出てくるのですが、演技力よりもバイクのスキルが求められたということでプロのレーサーが演じてるそうな。またスカヨハに車で誘われる男性たちはみんな素人で、実際に声をかけられるシーンを隠しカメラで撮影していたのだとか。でも普通だったら「あなた、『アベンジャーズ』に出てませんでした？」とか言われそうなものなんだがなあ。彼らスッポンポンになって頑張ってます。顔に障害がある男性も、メークではなく実際にそういう人がキャスティングされたのだとか。

例によってメディアでは「スカヨハがフルヌードに初挑戦！」なんて煽られてますが、どのくらい裸が拝めるのかはここでは書きません。スカヨハの裸を期待した男たちが哀れな目に遭う映画に対して、スカヨハの裸を期待して映画館にやってきた男たちが哀れな目に遭うというメタな展開が繰り広げられるのではないかと、今から勝手に期待しておきます。
