「ローグ・ワン／スター・ウォーズ・ストーリー」鑑賞

まだ公開されたばかりなので感想をざっと。でもいちおうネタバレ注意。

・カメラワークも違うしワイプもないし、明らかに従来の「スター・ウォーズ」とは一線を画したスタイルをとっているが、それはそれで割り切っちゃってありだと思う。タイトルクロールは残しておいて欲しかったと思うけど。ウィルヘルム・スクリームも無かったよね？

・ストームトルーパーのボディーアーマーはハリボテか。銃にやられるのはまだしも、打撃にも弱いのでは着けてる意味がないだろうに。

・デス・スターってハイパースペース・ジャンプできるのか。なら「エピソード４」でヤヴィン４を射程に入れるのにあれだけ時間がかかったのは何だったのだろう。

・つうか帝国軍よお、惑星全体を囲めるバリアを開発できるなら、「エピソード６」のシールド発生装置もさらにそれで保護すればよかったんじゃね？

・キャストはフェリシティ・ジョーンズが「インフェルノ」以上に無表情なのが気になったが、まあ可も不可もなし。イギリス英語を話す登場人物が多いなかでディエゴ・ルナがメキシコ訛りの英語を話していて、どこの世界の話かと。あと中国市場へのアピールというのを置いておいても、ドニー・イェンやチアン・ウェンのキャラクターが立っているのを見ると、やはりアジア圏の役者がハリウッド進出するのには英語が流暢でないといかんなと実感しました。

・一方では死んだはずの役者がスクリーン上では過去作以上に登場してるわけで。かつて「特別編」ではハリソン・フォードの後ろ姿しか映せなかったことを考えると、死人も蘇らせるCGの進歩って今後の映画製作に大きな影響を与えてくるのかも。いっそドゥークー伯爵も登場させて名コンビ復活させようぜ。

・過去作に媚びてた「フォースの覚醒」よりは面白かったけどね。とはいえ感想の５割くらいはノスタルジアによって美化されていることは否めない。どんなに迫力のある作品を作ったとしても「過去にはこんな出来事があったんだろうか」というファンそれぞれの想像力を完全に満足させることはできないわけで、ストーリー上で語る必要のなかった話がまた語られてしまったと、「スター・ウォーズ」に限らずプリクエルを観るたびに思わずにはいられないのです。
