スウェーデン作品で、日本では「ボーダー 二つの世界」の題で秋に公開みたい。
原始人めいた顔つきをしたティナは、スウェーデンの税関に努める女性。彼女は人の罪悪感や羞恥心を感じ取ることができるという才能を持っており、その力を活かして旅行者が持ち込む規定以上の酒や、さらにはいかがわしい映像の入ったSDカードまでも嗅ぎ当てることができた。その能力を認められ、幼児ポルノの調査を手伝うように依頼されるティナ。その一方で彼女は人付き合いを好まず、山奥に恋人とひっそりと暮らしていた。そんな彼女はある日、自分に顔つきのよく似たヴォアーという人物に出会う。何度かヴォアーと会ううちに惹かれていくティナだったが、やがて自分に関する意外な事実を知ることになる…というあらすじ。
原作は「ぼくのエリ 200歳の少女」のヨン・アイヴィデ・リンドクヴィストで、あの作品と同様に現代社会を舞台にしたファンタジー作品になっている。どこらへんがファンタジーか、というのはネタバレになるので書きませんが、まあムーミンが生まれた北欧らしいというか。ただファンタジーといっても特撮描写みたいなものは殆どなくて、大人のおとぎ話、といった内容になっている。
ティナが自分についての事実を知るにつれて、性格的にもセクシャリティ的にも解放されていくのが１つのサブプロットになっているのですが、例によってキワどいシーンもあるので日本では修正入るんだろうか。
監督のアリ・アッバシとか出演者とか、すいませんみんなスウェーデン人なのでよく知らないです。ティナの原始人メークが評価されてこないだのアカデミー賞ではメイクアップ&ヘアスタイリング賞にノミネートされてたけど、単にメークがすごい、というだけの作品ではないです。
「ぼくのエリ」ほどカルト的人気は出ないだろうけど、あの作品が好きなら観ても損はしないんじゃないかな、という作品。
