良い評判を聞いていた低予算映画。ヘンリー・ダナムなる人の初監督・脚本作品らしい。
アメリカのとある片田舎の夜。その土地の民兵組織のメンバーであるギャノンは、警察無線を聞いているうちに何者かが警察官の葬式において銃を乱射し、逃走していることを知る。自分たちの組織にあらぬ疑いが向けられることを危惧したギャノンは、組織のほかの６人のメンバーたちとアジトに集結する。そこでしばらく潜んでいようという計画だったが、保管していた銃が１つ無くなっていることが発覚し、彼らの中に銃撃犯がいる疑いが出てきてしまう。メンバーのうち誰が犯人であるかを突き止めるため、元警官でもあるギャノンは調査を始めるのだが…というあらすじ。
舞台は夜のアジトだけで、女性も一切登場しないまま、ムサい男たちの腹の探り合いが繰り広げられる密室劇になっている。メンバーにはそれぞれアリバイがあり、彼らに対してギャノンが尋問をしていくのだが、メンバーのひとり（ギャノンのブラザーらしいのだが、実際の兄弟なのかはいまいち不明）は実は覆面警察官であり、ギャノンもそのことを知っていて、彼には他のメンバーから危害が加えられないよう苦心するというのが話にヒネリを加えている。
閉じこもった状況のなかで緊迫した状況が続き、外部の様子は警察無線を傍受することによってのみ知る、という展開はゾンビ映画に通じるものがあるな。最後のオチは、あとになって考えるとなんかしっくりこないところもあるけど、まあいいでしょう。
ギャノンを演じるのがジェームズ・バッジ・デールで、あとはパトリック・フィッシュラーとかクリス・マルケイなんかが出ています。デビュー作としてはどことなく設定が似てる「パルプ・フィクション」ほどに洗練された出来ではないけど、悪い作品ではないので、今後もこの監督のことはどこかで目にしていくんじゃないだろうか。
