発表直後に注文した新型iPod touchが今朝届いた。俺はiPhoneのユーザーではないので、カメラとかマイクとかそういう機能がついただけでも嬉しいのですよ。
手にもって気付くのはその薄さで、今まで使ってた2Gのやつよりも一回りスリムになったような感じ。但しそのため以前のUSBコネクタがはまらなくなっている。市販のビデオケーブルとかにも対応しなくなってるんだろうか？そしてディスプレイも鮮明になった…ということでいいのかな。そんなにドラスティックに変わったわけでもないが、奇麗といえば奇麗か。
カメラは撮れるサイズが960X720ピクセルという、お世辞にも優れてるとは言えないスペックだが、ウェブ上での掲載を目的としたものとして割り切ってしまえばいいのかな。上の写真もこれで撮ったやつです。まあ考えてみるとこの薄さで写真もビデオも撮れるようになったというのは凄いことなのかもしれない。前面にはFaceTime用のカメラもあるけど…たぶん使う機会はないだろうなあ。誰か俺とチャットしたい人います？
現時点での不満は電源ボタンが左上から右上に移ったことで、ちょうどカメラレンズの上にあるため、レンズを不必要に触ってしまう可能性があることかな。
でも自分が望んでいた機能はほぼ搭載された機種であるわけで、娯楽だけでなく仕事にもいろいろ使えそうだし、今後さまざまな場面で役立ってくれるでしょう。
