そろそろ第２シーズンの後半が開始される「Battlestar Galactica」の、今までのあらすじを紹介してくれる番組「SCI FI Inside: Battlestar Galactica」が US版iTMSから無料ダウンロードできるようになっている（要アカウント）。ミニ・シリーズおよびシーズン１＆２の複雑なストーリー展開をざっと説明してくれるので、これから「BSG」を観てみようという人には便利な番組かもしれない。ただしネタバレが山ほど含まれてるので注意。 ちなみに「タイム」誌が選んだ今年のナンバー１番組も「BSG」だとか。SF番組がここまで高く評価されるのは異例のことだろう。まあ出来が非常にいいシリーズだからね。日本じゃ放送しないのかなあ。オリジナルの「宇宙空母ギャラクティカ」がとってもダメな作品だったので、どうしてもネガティヴなイメージが付きまとうかもしれないけど、ぜひ日本でも人気が出てほしいシリーズなのです。
ただし各エピソードの異様なテンションの高さが逆に災いして、シリーズがあんまり長続きするとストーリーが結構たるんでくる恐れがあるのも確かだろう。シーズン２にも、シーズン１に比べればちょっと不必要な話の展開がいくつかあったと思う。来年はじめからシーズン２の残りが10話くらい放送され、そのあとはシーズン３の製作が既に決まってるのだけど、あまりにも話が暗く複雑になっていくものだから、とっとと最終回を観たいような気にもなってしまうのです。
