うむ。やはり「キック・アス」よりこちらだよな。
まず驚くのがキャストがやけに豪華なことで、神の声に啓示を受けてスーパーヒーロー稼業に目覚めるクリスチャンの主人公を演じるレイン・ウィルソン（でも実生活ではバハーイー教徒）は監督のジェームズ・ガンの元嫁と「THE OFFICE」で共演してるのでそこから起用されたのだろうし、たぶんギャラも高くなかったんだろうが、脇を固めるのがエレン・ペイジにケヴィン・ベーコン、リヴ・タイラー、ネイサン・フィリオンといった主役級の俳優ばかり。これって監督のトロマ人脈とは関係ないよな？あとはアンドレ・ローヨとかリンダ・カーデリーニといった俺好みの役者も出ています。後者は１シーンしか出てなかったけどね。しかしケヴィン・ベーコンはいつの間にか悪役が似合うようになったなあ。
話の流れをおおまかに３つに分けるとすると、最初は主人公がスーパーヒーローとなっていろんな人を痛めつけていくサイコぶりが良かったのですが、第二幕になってエレン・ペイジ扮するサイドキックのより過激なサイコぶりに主人公が圧倒されてしゅるしゅると凡人に戻っていく展開にはちょっと難を感じたよ。彼女のキャラを好きな人も多いだろうけど、主人公をドン引きさせたのはどうなんだろうね。そして第三幕では比較的ストレートなアクション・ムービーとなってしまって、そのまま終わるのかと思いきやエピローグではうまく主人公のサイコぶりが表現されて、きちんと着地したなあ、といった感想。
目の前で行列に割り込んだ奴を撲殺したいという願望は誰でも抱いてるわけで（抱いてるよね？）、それをちゃんと描いているという点では下手なスーパーヒーロー映画よりもはるかにカタルシスを与えてくれる佳作であった。
