うーん。オタクが丹念に作り上げた曲を、イケメンのにーちゃんたちがやってきて「後はまかせとけ！」といった調子でそれをカバーしたような感じというか、きらびやかさはあるものの、どうも情熱が感じられないんだよな。

監督のマーク・ウェッブがどれだけスパイダーマンに詳しいのか知らないけど、サム・ライミはウィレム・デフォーにスパイダーマンの魅力を電話で２時間と語り続けたという筋金入りのファンであるわけで、原作へのリスペクトが前シリーズでは如実に感じられたわけです。それに対して今回のはライミ版から無理して離れようとしている印象があって、おかげでスパイダーマン作品として外せない点が外されてるというか。アンクル・ベンが「With great power …」のセリフも言わずにあっけなく死んでしまったのは拍子抜けしたなあ。

アクション・シーンも比較的凡庸。個人的に思うにリザードってバットマンでいうとツーフェイスくらいの敵役で、単独で映画を抱えられるほどのキャラクターではないと思うのですよ。顔のデザインも平面的でキバも生えてないし、学校の廊下でチマチマ戦われてもねえ。とはいえディラン・ベイカー版のリザードなら観てみたかった気もするが。
