「ザ・レイド」鑑賞

あまり良く知られてないインドネシア映画「ザ・タイガーキッド~旅立ちの鉄拳~」の監督（ウェールズ人）＆主演（東南アジアの格闘技シラットの達人）のコンビによる新たなアクション映画。

ストーリーは極めて単純で、ジャカルタの麻薬王とその部下たちが住むスラム街のビルに、彼らの撲滅を計画した機動隊の一隊が奇襲を試みるものの、鉄壁の守りを誇るゴロツキたちの前に彼らのことがバレてしまい、逆に狩られる身になってしまう。そして機動隊の隊員は１人また１人と殺されていき、どうにか生き残った主人公とその仲間たちはビルからの決死の脱出を図るのだが…というようなプロット。

最初の30分くらいは機動隊とゴロツキどもの銃撃戦がメインで、血と肉が飛び散るFPSゲームばりのアサルトライフルによるガンファイトが繰り広げられるぞ。そして機動隊員の数が減り、彼らの弾薬が尽きたところでゴロツキたちも都合よく銃を使わなくなるんだが、そこから先は主人公を中心としたシラットによる肉弾戦が続き、壁を破り床を突き抜けるバトルが堪能できる。当然ながらワイヤーアクションなどは皆無だし、カンフー映画に比べて技がコンパクト（肘打ち・ヒザ蹴りが多い）なものの、主人公の動きがハンパじゃないうえにカメラワークも巧みで拍手したくなるくらいに見事な格闘を見せてくれるぞ。主人公に負けじと機動隊の隊長も熱い戦いをするんだが、あの役者は柔道の選手だったのか。

なおラスボス的な人（すんごく強い）は「タイガーキッド」で準ラスボスみたいな役を演じてた人で（エレベーターの人）、またお前と戦うのかよ！といった感じでしたが、ああいうアクションが出来る人が少ないんだろうね。実生活ではシラットのインストラクターやってる大ベテランらしい。

麻薬王の登場シーンが「白いランニング着てラーメン食ってる」というのはどうもカッコ悪いし、ビルの中に主人公の○○がいるというのは都合良すぎる気もするけど、細かいことは考えずにひたすら続くアクションを楽しみましょう。あと「タイガーキッド」もそうだったけど、敵はたくさんいるのにみんな１人ずつ襲ってくる展開が多かったかな。１人対複数のバトルの演出が今後のさらなる課題かもしれない。

インドネシアはおろかアメリカでもヒットを記録し、続編やアメリカ版のリメークの製作も企画されているとのことで、バイオレンス描写がOKな人は観ておいて損しない作品でしょう。
