DVDで「Bubba Ho-Tep」を観る。テキサスの老人ホームで生きていたエルビス・プレスリーと、JFKだと自称する黒人の老人が、甦った古代エジプトのミイラと戦うという変な話。監督が「ファンタズム」の人で主演がブルース・キャンベル、とくればB級の王道を行く作品に決まってるわけだが、原作（ちゃんとある）がジョー・R・ランズデールなのでそれなりに話はしっかりしている。逆に言えば話がストレートすぎて破綻してないという不満（？）もあるのだが。特撮とかはしっかりしてるのだけど、やはり低予算なのが露骨に分かるのがちょっと悲しい。ちなみにDVDにはエルビス（に扮したキャンベル）のコメンタリー（スナックをバリバリ食べながら文句をたれるだけ）なんていうイカした特典もついてくる。日本公開はされていないけど、やはり特定のファン層にはとてもウケるんでしょう。
