・ラブコメって劇場であまり観たことはないのですが、安心して観られるラブコメの王道のような作りだし、皆で笑えるところもいろいろあって面白かったでございます。
・経済的格差の激しいカップル、という設定に加えて、家のためにどこまで自分を犠牲にできるのか、という要素を持ってきているところがアジア的なのかな。そして家のために尽くすわけでもなく、かといってアメリカンな個人主義を貫くわけでもなく、うまく話を着地させてるところが巧いなと。
・ボーイフレンドが寛大すぎるんじゃね？という見方もあるでしょうが、それの比較対象としてもう一組の夫婦を持ち出してきて、勇気を出して問題に立ち向かわないと失敗するよ、というのをきちんと描いてましたね。
・全体的に小道具の使い方が上手で、麻雀稗は当然のことながら、指輪やイヤリングを使って登場人物の心境を説明しているのも良かったな。
・姑役のミシェル・ヨーは適材適所。もっと怖くてもよかった気がするけど。主役のコンスタンス・ウーは「Fresh Off The Boat」では中国語訛りのある役を演じているので、訛りのない演技を見たのは新鮮でございました。アジア人女性であることに加えて、あの貧乳でハリウッド映画の主役を務めたことはかなり画期的だと思いますが、あまりそこには触れないようにします。
・マレーシア人のヨーと台湾系のウーに加えて、韓国系のアクアフィーナとか中国系のジェマ・チャンとか、ひとえにアジアンズといいつつも様々な系統（？）のアジア人俳優が集まっているのがいいですね。個人的にはソノヨ・ミズノがいつばん魅力的だと感じましたが、日系だからなのかしらん。
・日本のレビューでは例によって「中国資本のプロパガンダ」と見なす輩もいるようだけど、大金だしてシンガポールの宣伝をするほど中国政府は暇じゃないっす。あとアメリカで大ヒットしたことを「アジア系に受けた」というのも正しくはないような。３週間も興収１位になったということは、アジア系に限らずいろんな人種の観客に受けたということでしょ。
